Ultra MIS Fixation of Lumbar Spine, for even Grade 2 Spondylolysthesis ( Unstable Spine)

We perform Ultra MIS Fixation of Lumbar Spine, for even Grade 2 Spondylolysthesis ( Unstable Spine). In this 41 year old female patient, who had significant Pars defect of B/L L5 causing unstable Gr-2 Lysthesis of L5/ S1 , as seen in flexion extension X rays. She was suffering from back pain and severe radicular pain in Left leg. TLIF ( Transforaminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion) of L5-S1 was performed by UBE ( Unilateral Biportal Endoscopy of Spine) -with only 4 Small incisions for the 4 screws and TLIF ( PEEK) cage placed by UBE Endoscopy through the same incisions. The patient was discharged comfortably walking the very next day, painfree. UBE Endoscopic Surgery has revolutionised Spine Surgery. - Dr V A Senthil Kumar, Director Orthopedics and Spine Surgery

Milestone achievement in MIS Spine Surgery

Milestone achievement in MIS Spine Surgery- Balloon Kyphoplasty under LA in Lateral position. This procedure is done for osteoporotic Vertebral Compression Fracture ( OVCF) routinely in prone position and under GA. In patients with high comorbidities and unfit for GA, we do under LA with MAC. This 71 year old elderly gentleman with L1 OVCF who was suffering from severe pain, had severe COPD- unfit for GA and could not lie prone for even 5 minutes. We successfully performed Balloon Kyphoplasty for this patient under LA and MAC and in LATERAL POSITION , which is technically challenging. We performed this for FIRST TIME in Max Superspeciality Hospital, Sector 128, Noida. The patient was discharged walking comfortably and painfree the very next day. I would like to thank Dr Gagan Shrivastav and team,Dr Vinod,Lokender,Virender Kumar Niralaji, Pradeepji, Sister Memcha and OT nurse Inderjit and all others who helped in this surgery.

Endoscopic Discectomy using UBE technique

Endoscopic Discectomy using UBE technique is a boon for patients suffering from Slipped Disc and Sciatica. Two small keyhole incisions are sufficient for the whole surgery. The patient can walk on the same day after surgery and get discharged same day or next day -pain free. You can see the happy patient post Endoscopic Discectomy. It was done for this patient who had severe Sciatica of Left Leg due to L5 /S1 Disc extrusion as shown in MRI. Excellent results can be seen.

Robotic - Medtroniks Stealth Station System

With the advent of Computer Navigation Guided ( Robotics) Spine Surgery with the Medtroniks Stealth Station system, Spine Surgery has become very safe.

We have in our hospital the state of the art Robotic - Medtroniks Stealth Station System, to give the best services to needy patients and community.

a) Degenerative Disc Disease and Slipped disc ( Back Pain and radiating leg pains)
b) Degenerative KyphoScoliosis ( Bent backbone due to aging)
c) Spinal Fusion Surgeries (where damaged discs need to be replced with spacers)
d) Deformity Correction in Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis ( Abnormal sideways bending of backbone in youngsters in teens)
e) Deformity Correction in Congenital Scoliosis ( Deformity of spine from birth)
f) Infective Diseases of Spine ( Tuberculosisor bacterial or fungal or parastic infections)
g) Quadriparesis ( Weakness of all four limbs) or Paraparesis (weakness of both lower limbs) or difficulty in walking ,due to Spinal cord or Spinal Nerves compression
h) Fracture or Slipping of vertebrae of back bone with back pain , with or without cord compression
are some of the spine problems which are treated by spine surgery. In these conditions Pedicle Screws are placed in the vertebrae of backbone (Spine) to correct the problem and fix the spine to give it stability, and decompression and restore mobility of patient and treat the pain.
Computer Navigation assisted ( Robotic) Pedicle Screw placement helps in the following ways in Spine Surgery , where needed Neuro monitoring adds to the safety
1. 💯 % precision
2. 💯 % safety
3. Avoidance of Excessive X Ray Radiation
4. Less blood 🩸 loss
5. Much Lesser Pain in postoperative Period compared to conventional surgery
6. Faster Rehabilitation
7. Shorter hospital stay
