Senior Citizen bedridden for 6 months walks 2 days after spine surgery!

6 months bedridden patient walks on 2nd day after spine surgery!


A 74 year old Gentleman, was bedridden for 6 months due to burst fracture of L3 leading to Unstable spine and weakness of both lower limbs with severe Radicular pain. This pt had pacemaker with multiple comorbidities including 20% EF. DNH spine surgery team of Dr. V.A. Senthil Kumar and Dr. Ashish Kumar Shrivastav, performed MIS fixation of Spine and decompression surgery in Lateral position successfully with less 100 ml blood loss. The able anaesthesia team of Dr. Manish Tandon did an excellent job. Pt sat up on next day and walked on 2nd postop day. He was extremely happy to be able to stand and walk again after 6 long months due to Sai Baba’s grace.













UCL Reconstruction of Thumb

 A young lady of 34 years was suffering from pain in the thumb and weakness in pinch strength and grip strength , after an injury 3 months ago. She was diagnosed to have UCL ( Ulnar Collateral Ligament) injury of the MCP joint of Thumb. We treated it by UCL reconstruction surgery using EPB ( Extensor Pollicis Brevis tendon) tendon of same thumb. The photos show the procedure.

About 200 People from all walks of life and age groups wearing same T-Shirts will be walking together from Mayur Vihar Phase-2 Pkt D Main Gate no-2 to Pkt-C Metro Station and back.

This will be followed by a Health Talk on Bone and Joint Health , followed by FREE BMD TEST, free Blood sugar test, free BP check up, highly subsidized Vit-D test and Refreshments. REGISTRATION IS FREE OF COST. ALL PARTICIPANTS WILL ALSO RECEIVE A T-SHIRT FREE OF COST.

Complicated non union of humerus arm bone fracture in an international patient

Our team in Dharamshila Narayana Superspeciality hospital, undertakes challenging cases like this and delivers excellent results. This young 39 year old patient from Tajikistan had underwent multiple surgeries elsewhere and presented to us with loosened plates and screws gap non-union of Humerus ( arm bone). We removed the loose Steel screws and plate and successfuly fixed the fracture with Double plates ( Titanium) and bone grafted it successfully. Neurovascular status intact.

360 degrees decompression of spine

Our Spine Surgery Team of Dharamshila Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, Delhi-96, comprises of Dr. V.A.Senthil Kumar, Spine Surgeon and Dr. Ashish Kumar Shrivastav Neurosurgeon. We, recently performed a 360 degree Decompression of Cervical spine ( Combined Anterior ACDF and posterior Decompression -laminectomy), in a single sitting. The patient was a 42 year old lady from Bareilly with severe spastic UMN lesion due to PIVD C4/5 and C5/6 with LFH with global cord compression at these levels. She reported subjective improvement and walked the very next day.














OATS procedure

A 52 year old patient with isolated damage to the cartilage of Knee joint Grade-3 Chondral defect in the weight bearing aspect of Medial Femoral Condyle, and a longitudinal tear in Lateral Meniscus and ACL tear, was treated by Arthroscopic ACL Reconstruction, Partial Lateral Meniscectomy and OATS ( Osteochondral Autograft Tranplant Surgery) all in the same sitting.
