The child was suffering from a rare congenital condition called as Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita (AMC).In this condition,the child is born with multiple joint deformities and contractures and the child is unfortunately bed ridden or has severe restricted mobility of all 4 limbs. This child (PD) had come from Ghana 🇬🇠, Africa.
Our Orthopaedic Team Spearheaded by Dr.Prof. BS Murthy, with Dr V A Senthil Kumar, Dr Tushar, Dr Naman, DR SAURABH YADAV and Dr. Rahul Choudhary took up the challenging task of CORRECTING THE FIXED 100 DEGREES FLEXION DEFORMITY OF LEFT KNEE and CLUB FOOT in the first stage.
Probably FOR THE FIRST TIME IN DELHI NCR, such a complex deformity of AMC was corrected using LATEST TECHNOLOGY called DEFT-FIX HEXAPOD System which ALLOWS COMPLEX MANOEUVRES by ADVANCED COMPUTER GUIDED TECHNOLOGY( only one of the 2 systems available all over the World) . The planning and results with the COMPLETE CORRECTION OF KNEE DEFORMITY from 100 degrees to 5 degrees are in the photos.
